The Isle of Barra lies at the southern end of the chain of islands known as the Western Isles or the Outer Hebrides.
Getting here by air
Flybe operates a light aircraft service that lands on the Cocklehell beach (an experience in itself!) There are daily flights from Glasgow and Stornoway.
Getting here by ferry
Caledonian MacBrayne operates a ferry service from Oban to Castlebay. The cruise on board a fully equipped modern ferry takes around five hours, and provides plenty of time to relax and even spot the odd dolphin or whale on route.
There is also a ferry service from Eriskay to Barra. There are several crossings a day and the journey takes around 40 minutes.
